1. Information We Collect

lEFT collects the following information to provide our services:

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account Information: Apple ID authentication data (via Sign in with Apple)
  • Profile Information: Display name, profile picture, user ID
  • Event Data: Titles, dates, times, day-of messages, colors, and other event details you create
  • Friend & Sharing Data: Friend requests, friend lists, blocked users, event invitations

1.2 Automatically Collected Information

  • Push Notification Tokens: For delivering reminders, friend requests, and event invitations
  • Usage Data: App usage frequency, feature interactions
  • Device Information: OS version, device model

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Displaying countdowns and reminders for your events
  • Delivering local reminder notifications (30 minutes before timed events, 7 AM for all-day events)
  • Delivering push notifications for friend requests and event invitations via Firebase Cloud Functions
  • Enabling event sharing between friends and managing invitation status
  • Providing home screen widget data (pinned events, monthly calendar)
  • Improving services and developing new features
  • Monitoring and preventing Terms of Service violations

3. Data Retention & Deletion

  • Event data is retained until you delete the event or your account
  • When you delete an event, it is removed from the calendars of all invited members
  • When you leave a shared event, it is removed only from your own view
  • All user data, including events, friend connections, and profile information, is permanently deleted upon account deletion

4. Information Sharing

We do not sell or share personal information with third parties except:

  • When required by law
  • With Firebase services for infrastructure (Authentication, Firestore, Storage, Cloud Messaging, Cloud Functions, App Check)
  • With friends you explicitly invite to shared events (limited to information necessary for the shared event)
  • To protect life, body, or property in emergencies

5. Information Protection

  • Firestore Security Rules restrict access to events, friend relationships, and blocks on a per-user basis
  • Data encryption in transit and at rest via Firebase infrastructure
  • Firebase App Check to prevent unauthorized API access

6. Your Rights

  • Delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings
  • Request disclosure or correction of personal information
  • Opt out of push notifications
  • Block other users to prevent them from finding or contacting you

1. Service Overview

lEFT is a countdown calendar app that prominently displays the number of days remaining until important events. In addition to personal event management, users can invite friends to share events, and receive local and push notification reminders.

2. Eligibility

  • Be 13 years of age or older
  • Agree to these Terms of Service
  • Authenticate using a valid Apple ID

3. Account Management

  • Users are responsible for maintaining the security of their Apple ID and device
  • Users must set a unique User ID (3-20 alphanumeric characters and underscores)
  • Using another person's account is prohibited
  • Account deletion permanently removes all data, events, and friend connections

4. Prohibited Activities

  • Activities that violate laws, regulations, or ordinances
  • Harassment through excessive friend requests or event invitations
  • Impersonating another person or entity via profile information or User ID
  • Attempting to circumvent blocking or privacy features
  • Spam, fraudulent activities, or unauthorized commercial use
  • Reverse engineering or tampering with the app
  • Interfering with service operations or other users' use of the Service

5. Event Ownership & Editing Rights

  • The event creator (owner) retains sole editing rights over event content (title, date, time, etc.)
  • Invited members may customize their own view (display color, pinned status) without affecting the owner's view
  • If the owner deletes an event, it is removed from all invited members' calendars
  • If an invited member leaves an event, it is removed only from their own view

6. Service Changes & Termination

  • We may change service content with prior notice
  • Services may be temporarily suspended for maintenance
  • We will provide advance notice of service termination when possible
  • We are not responsible for damages caused by service changes or suspension

7. Disclaimer

  • The Service is provided "as is"
  • We are not responsible for disputes between users, including disputes over shared events
  • Notification delivery (local and push) is not guaranteed and may be affected by device settings, network conditions, or OS limitations
  • Our liability for damages is limited to the extent permitted by law

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court.

Friends & Sharing Policy

1. Friend Connections

  • Friend requests are sent via unique User ID search and require mutual approval to establish a connection
  • Friend requests may only be sent to users who have not blocked you
  • You may remove a friend connection at any time from your Friends list

2. Blocking

  • Blocking a user automatically removes any existing friend connection
  • Blocked users cannot search for you, send you friend requests, or invite you to events
  • Unblocking a user automatically restores the friend connection and re-adds both users to each other's friend lists
  • You may view and manage your list of blocked users in Settings at any time

3. Event Invitations

  • Only friends may be invited to shared events
  • Invited users may accept or decline an invitation
  • Event owners can view the status of each invited member (invited / accepted / declined / left)

4. Prohibited Conduct in Sharing Features

  • Sending repeated or unwanted friend requests or event invitations as a form of harassment
  • Using shared events, day-of messages, or profile content to harass, threaten, or defame others
  • Posting profile images or content that is sexual, violent, discriminatory, or otherwise inappropriate
  • Sharing another person's private information without their consent

5. Reporting & Enforcement

If you experience harassment or inappropriate conduct through friend or sharing features, please block the user and contact us at camblereport1012@gmail.com. We will review reports and may take action including warnings, feature restrictions, or account suspension.

6. Protection of Minors

  • Children under 13 may not use the Service
  • Users under 18 should use the friend and sharing features with parental awareness
  • Content or conduct that exploits or endangers minors will be immediately removed and reported to relevant authorities

Common Questions

How do I add a friend?

Search for your friend by their User ID from the Friends screen and send a request. Once they approve it, you'll be connected.

How do I share an event with friends?

When creating or editing an event, select the friends you'd like to invite. They'll receive a notification and can accept or decline from their end.

Can I change how a shared event looks on my screen?

Yes. Invited members can set their own display color and pinned status for a shared event without affecting how it appears to the owner or other members.

How do I block someone?

Open your Friends list, swipe on the user, and select "Block." You can review and unblock users anytime in Settings > Blocked Users.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings > Delete Account. This permanently removes all your events, friend connections, and profile data.

2. Eligibility

  • Create an account with accurate information

3. Account Management

  • Users must provide accurate information during registration
  • Users are responsible for maintaining account security
  • Contact us immediately if you discover unauthorized use
  • Using another person's account is prohibited
  • Account deletion permanently removes all data and connections

4. Prohibited Activities

  • Harassment through excessive or unwanted Tells
  • Sending inappropriate or harmful photos
  • Attempting to bypass the 24-hour photo expiration
  • Activities that violate laws or regulations
  • Reverse engineering or tampering with the app
  • Spam or automated sending of Tells
  • Unauthorized commercial use

5. Photo Tell Policy

  • Photos must be taken in-app (camera library access is not permitted)
  • Photos are limited to 1 per friend per day
  • Photos are automatically deleted after 24 hours
  • Photos require reciprocal exchange to view (mutual unlock)
  • Screenshots of photos are the user's responsibility

6. Service Changes & Termination

  • We may modify features with prior notice
  • Services may be temporarily suspended for maintenance
  • We will notify users in advance of service termination when possible

7. Disclaimer

  • The Service is provided "as is"
  • We are not responsible for disputes between users
  • Notification delivery is not guaranteed (depends on device and network)
  • Streak data may be affected by service interruptions

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of Japan. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court.

Content Policy

  • Everyday moments and scenery
  • Selfies and personal photos
  • Food, pets, nature, and daily activities
  • Photos taken with consent of those pictured

2. Prohibited Photo Content

  • Nudity or sexually explicit content
  • Violent or graphic imagery
  • Photos taken without consent of subjects
  • Content depicting illegal activities
  • Harassment or threatening imagery
  • Content containing personal information of others
  • Content that exploits or endangers minors

3. Response to Violations

  • Warning to the user
  • Temporary suspension of photo features
  • Temporary or permanent account suspension
  • Legal action and reporting to authorities when necessary

4. Protection of Minors

  • Children under 13 may not use the Service
  • Users under 18 should use with parental awareness
  • Content exploiting minors will be immediately removed and reported

Common Questions

How do I add a friend?

Go to the Profile tab and share your QR code with a friend. They can scan it to send a friend request.

How do Photo Tells work?

Send a photo using the camera icon. Your photo stays locked until your friend sends one back. Both photos unlock at the same time. All photos disappear at midnight.

How do I block someone?

Swipe left on a friend in the Friends list and tap "Block." You can unblock them in Settings > Blocked Users.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Profile > Settings > Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data.
